Now that you’ve removed the holes and rounded out the arcs, you are ready for line editing. A line edit listens for the author’s unique voice. This is recognized through a lens that is specific to the author’s style, tone, character POV, and even the way lines are delivered .
With this service, I will go line-by-line identifying inconsistencies in character voice, style and tone of the manuscript, and overall readability. The edited manuscript will contain in-line and off-line edits, comments, and suggestions. Each of these will help to strengthen the prose of your manuscript.
In addition to the line edit, a light pass of copy editing will occur correcting errors such as proper usage of word, while achieving accuracy and clarity for your manuscript.
Copyediting identifies errors related to spelling and grammatical typos, word/name/inconsistencies, awkward syntax, and selective word choice to enhance the overall readability.
Upon completion, I’ll return two copies of the manuscript. One copy with contain all changes accepted (no markups), and the other copy will contain the Tracked Changes markups (will have markups).
HERE’S THE PROCESS
- Submit your interest form.
- You will receive a request for up to 1500 words (if your manuscript is over 30k words) for a sample edit.
- If you are satisfied with the sample edit, I will proceed by sending a quote and deposit invoice.
- After the deposit is paid, I am then ready to receive the manuscript ( (Word or Google Docs).
- Line edit and copy edit will be performed.
- Upon completion you will receive both documents and a 30 min video call (optional).
